Hvis du kommer som en del af en gruppe, der rejser langvejs fra, er det måske en idé at kigge på Charlottehavens hotellejligheder.

Weekend workshop

 

Lørdag, 26. maj 2018

  • 09:30-12:00 Astanga primary breakdown class 

    Detailing the primary series. In this class we take it's spring in a traditional primary series guided class. Following this immaculate practice form we will allow for occasional inspired off-springs into technical detail and useful hints for moving your practice along, potentially bridging spiritual gaps between your body, the practice and how it applies to our lives off the mat. We will explore anatomical mechanics for a deeper, injury free and more informed practice, as well as touching on the background of the Astanga method. Tim's sincere, down-to-earth and humorous teaching style makes for a fun, focussed and reverent morning.
  • 14:00-16:00 Fearless backbends
     
    If you enjoy a challenge but think you are too stiff to ever bend your back then this is the perfect class for you. By understanding how to work your body in a safe way you will learn what it takes to really bend over backwards with no fear. The secrets of deep backbends are available to you through the integration of sound anatomical principles, healthy alignment techniques and intensely fun stretches. The dynamic movement mechanics of bending your spine are the key to limitless flows of energy and in this class you will begin to explore you natural potential for deep backbends with safety, support and enthusiasm.

  • 09:30-11:30 Astanga yoga full primary series practice

    Surrender to the traditional Astanga yoga method with careful emphasis on the traditional vinyasa method and have fun along the journey. Experience the integrity and purity of the Astanga yoga practice and be prepared to sweat.
  • 13:30-16:00 Inversions & arm balances 

    In this workshop you will learn practical tools to turn upside down with stability, tranquility and grace. You will gain a thorough understanding of the anatomical patterns at play in your body while inverted. Detailing the shoulder mechanics helps you integrate your arms, spine, ribcage and hip to create a solid platform for accessible and pleasurable inversions whether on your head, hands or elbows. All levels welcome.

Som deltager i Kinos workshop har du adgang til Charlottehavens Fitness & Health Club lørdag og søndag 26-27. maj 7:00-18:00. Her finder du en lækker fitnesssal; et stort fritræningsområde inkl. den funktionelle træningsvæg, Kinesis, som muliggør et næsten ubegrænset antal træningsøvelser; spinning cykler; swimming pool; sauna; alt i høj kvalitet og med en skøn beliggenhed på Østerbro. 


 
 
 


I Charlottehaven finder du også en hyggelig café, der serverer brunch i weekenden. Caféen er åben lørdag og søndag 10:00-16:00.

Om Kino MacGregor

Kino is an international yoga teacher, author of three books, producer of six Astanga yoga DVDs, writer, vlogger, world traveler, co-founder of Miami Life Center and founder of Miami Yoga Magazine. Kino's dharma is to help people experience the limitless potential of the human spirit through the inner tradition of yoga. She is one of the few people in the world of yoga to embrace both the traditional teaching of India's historic past and the popular contemporary social media channels, see for example Instagram and YouTube. With more than 15 years of experience in Astanga yoga, she is one of a select group of people to receive the Certification to teach Astanga yoga by its founder Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India and practice through the fourth series of Astanga yoga.
 

Without any background in movement training Kino tried her first yoga class when she was nineteen. Three years later, she joined Govinda Kai's Mysore-style classes in New York City and became a dedicated Astanga yoga practitioner. After seven months of traditional Astanga practice Kino traveled to Mysore, India to meet her true teacher, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois ("Guruji"). Upon her return she began real self-practice by practicing alone and devoting herself entirely to the study and teaching of Astanga yoga. After seven years of consistent trips to Mysore, at the age of 29, she received from Guruji the Certification to teach Astanga yoga and has since worked to pass on the inspiration to practice to countless others.

Passionate about the environment, ethical fashion and conscious consumerism she believes that if everyone on Earth practiced yoga we would have a more peaceful planet. With a Master's Degree from New York University, Kino integrates her commitment to consciousness, lifelong learning and empowerment with her yoga teaching. More information at KinoYoga.com.
 

Om Tim Feldmann

Tim is the director of Miami Life Center, the yoga shala he founded with his wife Kino MacGregor. He was set on the yoga path by his first teacher Lino Miele and is authorized to teach directly by the founder of the Astanga yoga method, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, and his grandson, R. Sharath Jois. A practitioner of the advanced A series Tim is dedicated to Astanga yoga's traditional method. "The body is the way to our spirit, to a truer Self. That's what asana is for". A near fatal falling accident in 1992 led Tim on the yogic path. His teaching integrates extensive studies of F.M. Alexander Technique and sitting meditation with 20 years of experience as a professional dancer and an internationally acclaimed choreographer. His in-depth knowledge of functional anatomy as well as the idiosyncratic body and mind in stillness and in motion creates the platform upon which his solid understanding of the Astanga method rests. All Astanga yoga practitioners can participate and benefit from this weekend workshop, both beginners with some prior knowledge of Astanga yoga and more experienced students. You do not need to practice all of primary series to participate - just bring an open mind and willingness to experiment!

  2. 2/2,5-timers sessions, lørdag og/eller søndag: 795 DKK pr. stk. (ca. 105 EUR)
