Questions and answers
We have listed some of the frequently asked questions here:
Can I pay with credit card?
Yes. On the website you can pay with various credit cards (Dankort, Visa/Dankort, eDankort, Visa and MasterCard); in the shala you can also pay with cash or cheque.
Can I get a trial class?
We recommend that complete beginners, who would like to join our Ashtanga vinyasa yoga classes, attend our intro course first. Each intro course includes three 75-minute classes. Here we introduce the basic techniques (ujjayi breath, vinyasa movement, etc.), sun salutation A and B, plus a selection of standing and finishing postures. An intro course will give you a solid understanding and the best foundation for further practice in Ashtanga Guided and Ashtanga Mysore classes. Pre-registration is required.
Beginners with prior knowledge of ujjayi breath and vinyasa movement (from classes elsewhere) may join our Ashtanga Guided classes, see schedule. More advanced practitioners may join Ashtanga Guided or Ashtanga Mysore classes. Contact us if you have questions about our different class types.
Students at all levels are welcome in our Hatha yoga, Hatha & meditation, Iyengar yoga, and Yoga for runners classes. No intro course is needed to join.
How do I sign up for a class or a course?
To sign up go to schedule, create a profile and/or log in, then book the class or the course that you would like to join. Your space is secured when we have received your payment.
How much does a trial class cost?
We do not have a special price first time you come for a class.
An Ashtanga intro course (three 75-minute classes) costs 225 dkk. incl. rental of a yoga mat. If you buy a subscription, 1-year yogapass, or clip card no later than the last class of the course, we refund your full payment of 225 dkk. If you buy a subscription, 1-year yogapass, or clip card before the intro course begins, it is free! Remember to pre-register.
If you do not want to buy a membership first time you come for a 'drop in' class you are welcome to pay for just one class. You might also want to consider buying a 10-day unlimited yogapass so that you can try different types of classes and meet different teachers. Single class and membership prices are found here.
What should I bring for class?
A sticky yoga mat (can also be rented in the shala); stretchy but not too loose clothes is nicest; maybe a small towel.
Can I eat before joining a yoga class?
Do not eat any heavy meals less than three hours before the yoga practice. You can have a little fruit until half an hour before. Also do not drink more than a small glass of water half an hour before the yoga practice. Read the other advice before and after yoga.
How often should I practice?
We recommend that you practice minimum 2 times per week. Preferably more, if you have the time and inclination! Ashtanga vinyasa yoga is a 'daily' practice with one day off per week (traditionally on Saturdays). It takes some time to establish the daily practice, and less might do it... But frequent and regular practice is the key to progress. For most people practice once a week is purely maintenance, while you will feel the advance if you practice more often - which also makes it more fun!
I bought a clip card but didn't get to practice last week...?
Then you can catch up while your clip card is valid, i.e. take one or more extra classes in another week. When the clip card 4-months period has run out it's over.
I am going on holiday. Can I put my membership on hold?
It depends on the type of membership that you have. Go to prices and read more about the terms for the different types of membership that we offer.
Where can I buy a yoga mat?
At our yoga shala. We have a selection of 'sticky' yoga mats, cottom mats, mat bags, etc. that you can have a look at in the shala.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.
